Mammootty for another double role

In an interesting development, the makers of Palery Maanikyam - a Pathira Kolapathakinte Katha, has finally made it clear that Mammootty will be playing a double role in the movie.

The superstar will be in the roles of a CBI officer who is re investigating the crime in the present day and also as a Muslim landlord, who was involved in the original crime in the late fifties. The movie which is based on a serialised novel which appeared in a popular weekly, is on the Manikkam murder case which rocked the state in fifties. The movie making has been in the news for quite some time as the makers were conducting workshops for a month to train the fresh actors appearing in the movie. The shoot for the movie will kick off by the third of July.

Mammootty Inaugurates Heart Foundation

A charity foundation has started under the guidance of Mamootty named 'Care and Share International Foundation' for helping the poor children suffering from heart disease, based at Kochi. Children below 12 years of age from Kerala and Lakshadweep would get help from this scheme. In the first step hundred children would get benefit. For those who need surgery will be carried at Sree Chithira Thirunal hospital at Thiruvananthapuram, MIMS at Kozhikode and Amritha Institute at Eranakulam. The foundation has signed MoU with these Hospitals. As a start of this programme each hospital will carry surgery today (Thursday) for one child. Foundation would spare Rs. One lakh for each surgery. It will receive donations from interested persons to serve the purpose. The selection process of children will be done under the guidance of doctors from a panel. The foundation was inaugurated by Mamootty at Kumbala Ramada resort in Kochi on Wednesday. Pattanathil Bhootham postponed again(July 9)

Mammootty's big budger action, comedy family entertainer Pattanathil Bhootham, directed by Johnny Antony which was schedule to release on July 2, has now been postponed by a week to July 9.

The graphics work of the film is taking time, which is the cause for the delay. The producers of the film Benjamin and Kutty Krishnan of Hibright Films are confident about their product.
